percent of increase:ratio of an amount of increase to the previous amount that is expressed as a percent
percent of decrease:ratio of an amount of decrease to the previous amount that is expressed as a percent
Examples: A game is on sale for 20% off the original price. If the original price of the game is $40, what is the discounted price 20% of $40=0.20x40
=8.00 Subract $8.00 from the original price, $40.00- $8.00=$32.00, the discounted price of the game is $32.00
