Weighted Averages
Vocabulary:
- weighted average-The sum of the product of the number of units and the value per unit divided by the sum of the number of units, represented by M.
- mixture problems-Problems in which two or more parts are combined into a whole.
- uniform motion problem-Problems in which an object moves at a certain speed, or rate. d=rt is the formula used to solve these problems.
Examples:
* What would Chon Wang's GPA be if these were his grades, and if A's were worth 4, B's were worth 3, and C's were worth 2?
