Lesson 4-4
Vocabulary:
Solution- if an equation in two variable is an ordered pair that results in a true statement when substituted into the equation.
Solution- if an equation in two variable is an ordered pair that results in a true statement when substituted into the equation.
Equation in two variables- the equation p = 0.69x is an example of equation in two variables.
GRAPH SOLUTION SETS- you can graph the ordered pairs in the solution for an equating in two variables. The domain contains values represented by the independent variable. The range contains the co-responding value represented by the dependent variable.
Examples:
4x + 2y = 10
4x + 2y -4x=10 - 4x
2y= 10 - 4x
2y over 2 = 10-4x over 2 (divide each side by 2.)
y=5 -2x Simplify
